"The Year 2 Single kit has been assembled for the complete implementation of our phonics program, further developing essential decoding skills and building fluency.
The Teacher Planner for Year 2 focuses on correctly adding affixes to words, the different parts of speech, learning contractions as well as developing spelling and proofreading skills. It provides daily lesson plans based on the progression of our program, in terms of the completion of sound families and the detailed instruction of prefixes, suffixes and homophones. A calendar in the front maps out all the lessons for the year.
At Phase 6 children should have already established reading skills which are further developed through the use of decodable readers and the teacher-led examples used throughout this planner. The lessons in this planner are designed to expand children’s reading abilities as well as spelling skills and encourage them to become fluent readers and increasingly accurate spellers and writers.
This Single Kit includes one copy of our 12-Book Decodable Reader Sets from Phase 6 in both Fiction and Non-Fiction titles. The kit also includes supplementary resources for reaffirming the skills taught in the planner and throughout the decodable readers.

Our phonics program is designed to follow children through Kindergarten to Year 2 (Phases 1 to 6). It includes a progression of Common Exception Words (also termed Heart Words or tricky words) alongside letter progression, allowing children to encounter words with different spelling patterns but similar phonemes. Our program has the largest collection of decodable readers and supplementary resources – all following this progression."
